Today is about Google and how it helps for local search results. For those of you who don’t know, there’s a function on your phone called Geo tagging, this allows the GPS function with your phone to be turned on or off. If you have it in the on position, it’s going to give coordinates into any photograph you take as to your exact longitude and latitude. Now, why is this important to your roofing company? It’s simple. Google wants to know where the photos were taken because if you want to have local search done and say you are a Denver roofing contractor that does work in another city like Aurora, you want to show up in Aurora so you have specific terms and pages built for Aurora. If you have photos within that page that had the geotagging turned on, Google can see their code inside the photo and that’s going to help them a lot to believe that this is an Aurora based operation doing work in Aurora, Colorado as opposed to just a website page talking about Aurora with random photos of roofing project. So think about it when you’re on your project, while you’re there turn on your geo tagging. Get a picture. Doesn’t matter if it’s a selfie or what it is to just get a photo at the home while you’re there. Lean up against the ladder. Do what you gotta do. Just get a good photo.
Think about it. Take it. Use it. Good luck out there.
