On today’s episode of Roofing Contractors Marketing Minute. I want to talk to you about Email marketing. Email marketing can be an extremely effective way to keep in touch with potential customers as well as existing customers. Potential customers is obvious, right? Anybody that might be looking for a new roof in the future, you want to try to find a way to keep in contact with them. Email is a good way to do that. Existing customers, it’s always good to keep in contact with them, even if it’s only annually or semi annually because if they come across other people in the neighborhood that are going to be looking for a roofing contractor at some point and it’s always good if they feel like they’re still in touch with you. They feel comfortable and good to refer you out. That’s a great way to do it.
Now, getting people to give you their email information if they’re not existing customers can sometimes be the challenge. So one thing I want you to think about is mailchimp is a great, free tool that you can use. You can do the subscribed version and do a few more things with it, but if you set up a mailchimp account and hook it to your website, what you can do is you can have an opt-in, somebody can subscribe to your newsletter, but how do you get them to do that? What is going to make them want to do that? So think about this, if you want people to subscribe to your email campaign, to your newsletter or wherever you want to call it, but either way you’re trying to collect their email information so you can send them stuff, offer them something free.
So a good way to do it is a pop up with a free download on let’s just say 10 things to think about before you start your next DIY home improvement project. If you offer them that, there can be a free download as well as getting them to enter their information, then they get that free download that you can email to them and whammy you have that, they have to subscribe, make sure that people are opting in because if they’re not opting in, You can get your email flagged for spam and that’d be a terrible thing for your mail server. So it makes sure you’re doing it the right way, the clean way. And you know, think about email marketing because it’s a great way to keep in touch with potential clients and existing clients.
