Today we are going to be talking about B roll. What is it and do I need it as a roofing contractor?

As we are making videos for our companies. If your a roofing company or any kind of business, one of the things you want to do is make a little better quality video so that your customers stay a bit more engaged. Basically, all B roll is, is a video with basic activity having something to do with your topic which plays behind you or in between “A Roll” shots. In “A Roll” you would be the focal point, but B roll would be running in the background so that you can jazz up your video a little bit by having something going on. So if you’re a roofing company, pretty simple, take a tripod and a camera, set it up on a roof watch your crew, go to work, let it capture some video, let it run, 10 minutes, or however long your camera is going to allow. It doesn’t have to be super high quality because you’re going to put it in the background. If you’re using a green screen, it’s just going to give some added dimension to your videos, which are going to help when you start pushing this stuff out to your customers.
